Park Planning and Development


The Park Planning and Development division is responsible for park master planning, facility design, land acquisition, capital projects, construction management, grant preparation, and long range strategic policy planning for Parks. The City's Parks, Recreation, and Open Space (PROS) Plan serves as a six-year guide and strategic plan for managing and enhancing park and recreation services



We are currently working on a variety of projects to improve Kirkland's green space. A summation of monthly progress on each of our current projects can be reviewed in our Monthly Reports.

Park Development Plans (formerly known as Master Plans) are comprehensive documents for the development of parks in Kirkland. Below is a list of complete plans that you can review for our active and recently completed projects.

2022 Parks, Recreation, & Open Space Plan (PROS Plan)

The Parks and Community Services Department also conducts studies to evaluate parks and services.
