Houghton Beach Reopened for Water Activities - August 30, 2023

No Lifeguards on Duty

KIRKLAND, Wash. – Houghton Beach Park has been reopened for swimming, wading and other water activities as of August 30, by recommendation of Public Health – Seattle & King County. The beach had been closed to swimming for one week due to elevated bacteria levels.

Truck-a-Palooza Rumbling into “City Hall for All”

Dogs Invited to Jump into Peter Kirk Pool for See Spot Splash

This one-day event occurs at the Peter Kirk Community Pool, followed by dogs running next door to Lee Johnson Baseball Field for some off-leash playing.

Houghton Beach Swimming Area Closed Due to Elevated Bacteria Levels

Beginning August 22, the Houghton Beach swimming area is closed for at least one week due to elevated bacteria levels per the recommendation of Public Heath – Seattle & King County. People and pets should not swim, drink lake water, or engage in other water activities at Houghton Beach.
