(December 4, 2025) -- Work continues, with wall construction expected to rise out of the foundation on the new restroom.
(November 25, 2025) -- No work is expected on Thursday, November 27 or Friday, November 28 on this project.
(November 20, 2025) -- Work continues on the restroom project. The project manager has left the City for another opportunity and Capital Project Coordinator Nick Sondergaard has been assigned this project.
(November 6, 2025) -- Foundation piers have been poured and the slab foundation is expected next week. Undergrounding the power from 8th Avenue to the new building is underway.
(October 30, 2025) -- Water trenching has been performed and connection is scheduled for Tuesday, November 4.
(October 17, 2025) -- Work has begun and the 60 year old building has been demolished. Work on the underground utilities is underway, and will require traffic control on 8th Street South. Two trees have been removed for the utility work and to site the new building.
(October 9, 2025) -- Demolition of the existing building is underway. The site is secured for safety and utility trenching is expected to cross 8th Avenue later this month.
(October 2, 2025) -- Construction begins Monday, October 6.
(September 25, 2025) -- Construction is expected to begin in early October on the new restroom building.
(September 11, 2025) -- No update this week as administration of the contract continues.
(September 4, 2025) -- Awaiting preconstruction meeting for further information on schedule and impacts.
(August 28, 2025) -- Contract administration is occurring. The contractor for this project has built multiple parks in Kirkland (Totem Lake Park and David Brink Park, among others!)
(August 14, 2025) -- Construction expected to begin in September or October.
(August 7, 2025) -- Kirkland City Council awarded the construction contract at it's August 6 meeting.
(July 31, 2025) -- Construction signs are mounted to the existing, 1960's restroom that this project replaces. The Junior League Softball World Series is this week, and construction begins this September/October.
(July 24, 2025) -- The project is bid and the contract award is headed to City Council for action. Construction is expected to begin in September/October to replace the park restroom.
