The City of Kirkland will add a new picnic shelter in O.O. Denny Park to increase capacity for community members' reservations.  This project will begin construction in June and is expected to be completed by September, 2025.

The new, pre-fabricated 24-foot-by-64-foot picnic shelter with an associated concrete slab foundation will be placed approximately 100 feet to the north of the existing shelter and to the west of the playground.  The picnic shelter will be constructed of coated metal framing, coated metal columns, a metal roof, and tongue & groove wood board ceiling that can be seen from the underside of the structure.

Additionally, the structure is set to receive power and water in the near future.  City Council allocated funds to be added to the project to add electrical outlets, lighting, and a hose spigot.  Staff are working to include those improvements to this project.
