(August 7, 2025) -- Work continues on the waterline for the new picnic shelter.
(July 31, 2025) -- The contractor expects to conduct trenching to deliver water service to the new shelter, which may close the paved ramp to the playground temporarily. The playground will not be closed, but construction fencing will separate the two areas.
(July 24, 2025) -- The pre-fabricated building is being constructed. The shelter is expected to be open to the public by Dennyfest in September.
(July 17, 2025) -- The building is on-site, and the concrete is curing. Crews likely to begin work on water and power service to new picnic shelter. A community event is occurring on Wednesday, construction will be done early to accommodate the event.
(July 1, 2025) -- Concrete slab and footings are in process currently, and the prefabricated structure is expected to be delivered on Thursday, July 10th between 8 am and 3 pm. Traffic control on Holmes Point Drive at the Park likely to be controlled by flaggers.
(June 20, 2025) -- Construction began on Monday, June 16.
(June 12, 2025) -- Construction is planned to begin on June 16. The contractor will fence off the area of the new picnic shelter and build access from Holmes Point Road to the location.
(May 29, 2025) -- Construction is expected to begin the week of June 16.
(May 22, 2025)-- Construction is expected in June, 2025 with completion by September. Staff are working on installation of project signs and Facebook posts to inform the community about the summer construction.
