Kirkland Joins Region in Urging Voluntary Water Conservation Efforts

The City of Kirkland is joining other regional agencies in urging community members to take voluntary measures to conserve water. Although Seattle’s regional water supply had looked good through the summer, extended dry conditions have drawn down Seattle’s reservoirs faster than normal.

Fire Safety Burn Ban Lifted by Kirkland Fire Department

The Fire Safety Ban that was issued in Kirkland in August has been terminated. Recreational fires are now allowed in Kirkland. Please remember that recreational fires are the only outdoor burning that is allowed in the City. All other burning is prohibited.

Houghton Beach Swimming Area Closed Due to Elevated Bacteria Levels

Beginning September 20, the Houghton Beach swimming area is closed for at least one week due to elevated bacteria levels per the recommendation of Public Heath – Seattle & King County. People and pets should not swim, drink lake water, or engage in other water activities at Houghton Beach.

Kirkland Community Police Academy Now Accepting Applications

Kirkland, WA – The Kirkland Police Department (KPD) invites Kirkland community and business members to participate in its annual Community Police Academy. Come receive a firsthand experience of the inner workings of the KPD. The 7-week series begins October 4 and runs through November 15.

The City of Kirkland invites older adults and their families to attend the annual Senior Resource Fair happening on Thurs, September 21, from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. at Peter Kirk Community Center located at 352 Kirkland Ave. Attendees can gather information and meet with over 30 local agencies about services ranging from health and wellness, legal services, transportation, and much more.
