New Crisis Response Center in Kirkland to Serve North King County

The City of Kirkland, along with north King County partner cities of Bothell, Kenmore, Lake Forest Park and Shoreline, announces the siting of a new multi-service crisis response center dedicated to serving the behavioral health needs of community members across north and northeast King County.

RCR Agency Welcomes Brook Buettner as Executive Director

KIRKLAND, Wash. – The newly formed Regional Crisis Response (RCR) Agency announces Brook Buettner as its first Executive Director. The RCR Agency provides regional mobile crisis response services for the five north King County cities of Bothell, Kenmore, Kirkland, Lake Forest Park, and Shoreline.

Two New Programs to Expand Housing Choices & Expedite Green Buildings

The City of Kirkland announces two new programs to help create more housing choices in the community and to incentivize the construction of environmentally-sound buildings. The first new program is a pre-approved Detached Accessory Dwelling Unit (DADU) program; the second is an expedited permit review program for High Performing Green Buildings.

Juanita Beach Reopens From Closure Due to Sewer Overflow

Kirkland Police Department (KPD) detectives have arrested 38-year-old Taylor Jacob Norton of Granite Falls in connection with a vehicle stolen from a Kirkland home last October – one of several auto thefts Norton is linked to across western Washington over a period of more than a decade.
