Announcement

The Everest Park playground is being replaced in 2025. The playground will be unavailable from April until the end of June. Join us for a ribbon cutting on July 10, 2025 at 1PM.

You're invited -- join us as we celebrate the grand opening of the new and improved Everest Park Playground on Thursday, July 10, 2025 at 1 PM!

Everest Park is a community park with many amenities, including pickleball courts, ballfields, a playground, a picnic shelter, and restrooms. The restroom building is typically open March through October. A portable toilet is available from approximately November to March.

Everest Park hosts the Junior League Softball World Series annually in August. Teams from around the world come to compete and the games air on national television.

There are two parking lots at Everest with space for up to 100 vehicles.

The City of Kirkland is replacing the aging restroom facility to ensure it is accessible to everyone. Learn more about this project.

Athletic Fields and Courts

There are four ball fields suitable for baseball or softball available. A permit may be required for use, please see our Rent an Athletic Field webpage for more information.

Free Play

Free Play is field time set aside for the community to enjoy passive, drop-in, and informal play outdoors. The program is offered from March through October for natural grass, and year-round for synthetic turf. Learn more at www.kirklandwa.gov/FreePlay

Park Donations

Donating funds to a park is a wonderful way to show appreciation for Kirkland, to honor someone special, or to commemorate a milestone. Park benches and tables are the most popular items to donate, however other donations are possible as well, like those for trees or landscape, for general park maintenance, towards public art or other site amenities (i.e. water fountains), and even towards the tools and equipment needed to keep Kirkland’s parks beautiful.

Picnic Area Rental

Everest Park picnic shelter

Everest Park has a picnic area available for rent. It includes a covered shelter with a total of four picnic tables. There are BBQs available for use in the picnic area. When the picnic area is not being rented, it is available for use on a first-come, first-serve basis.

There are additional picnic tables throughout the park that are not part of the picnic area. They are available for first-come, first-serve use.

Playground Replacement

The Everest Park playground was installed in 2001 and is one of the oldest and smallest playgrounds in our community parks at 3,850 square feet. In 2025, we are replacing and expanding it to 6,000 square feet to include more accessible and diverse play features, ensuring it meets the needs of all visitors.

The playground will be unavailable from April 2025 until the end of June 2025. Save the date for a ribbon cutting to celebrate the new playground on Thursday, July 10 at 1 PM.
