Mission Statement
Our mission is to provide quality law enforcement, with fair and respectful treatment of our Community, through partnerships, personal dedication and courage.
The Kirkland Police Department employs commissioned and civilian personnel who provide patrol, traffic, investigation, and specially trained units in K-9, special response, and crisis negotiations.

The Patrol Division is responsible for most patrol related law enforcement operations and is the largest team within the Department providing emergency services to citizens in Kirkland's corporate boundaries, 24-hours a day, every day of the year.

The Investigations Division is responsible for follow-up, long-term investigations, maintaining criminal intelligence, and undercover narcotics enforcement.

The Family Violence Unit supports domestic violence victims and the Community Resources Unit provides crime prevention education and school resource support.

The Corrections Unit is responsible for booking, housing, and transporting prisoners; and maintaining the security of the correctional facility.

The Records Unit is responsible for records maintenance, processing documents, and providing phone and counter customer service.

From I-405 Northbound, take the NE 85th Street Exit towards Redmond/Kirkland, exit number 18. Take N.E. 85th Street exit towards Kirkland. Bear right onto WA-908. Continue on Central Way. Turn right on 3rd Street. Turn left on 4th Avenue. Continue to top of the hill, cross 2nd Street, and drive into the Police Department parking area.
From I-405 Southbound, take the NE 85th Street Exit towards Redmond/Kirkland, exit number 18. Bear right onto WA-908. Continue on Central Way. Turn right on 3rd Street. Turn left on 4th Avenue. Continue to top of the hill, cross 2nd Street, and drive into the Police Department parking area.
