Marina Park

Park Updates and FAQs

Marina Park will undergo a dock renovation and shoreline improvement project in 2027 and 2028.

When will this project take place?

Construction is expected to begin after July 5, 2027 and continue through Spring 2028. Timelines may shift depending on weather.

Why is this project needed?

The project will modernize the marina piers, improve accessibility and safety, update aging infrastructure, and refresh park spaces. Learn more on the Marina Park Dock and Shoreline Renovation Project webpage

What areas of the park will remain open to the public?

Most of the park is expected to remain open, including:

  • Restrooms
  • Public boat launch
  • Parking lot
  • Open lawn areas on the east side of the park
  • Beach access will be open but limited

Areas of the park under construction will be fenced for safety and unavailable to the public.

Why is this project scheduled for the summer?

Because this project is focused on renovating the dock and shoreline, work in the water must take place during specific times of the year to protect fish and minimize stress on aquatic life. The window for work on Lake Washington is limited between July 16 - March 15.

How can I stay updated?

Updates will be posted on the Marina Park Dock and Shoreline Renovation Project webpage and on signs at the park.

Park Donations

Donating funds to a park is a wonderful way to show appreciation for Kirkland, to honor someone special, or to commemorate a milestone. Park benches and tables are the most popular items to donate, however other donations are possible as well, like those for trees or landscape, for general park maintenance, towards public art or other site amenities (i.e. water fountains), and even towards the tools and equipment needed to keep Kirkland’s parks beautiful.
