Update March 2026: AED units in Kirkland Parks have been temporarily removed while the City evaluates security improvements for the equipment. Our goal is to safely reinstall the devices as soon as possible. Thanks for your patience as we work to restore these important safety features.

The City of Kirkland has installed automated external defibrillators (AEDs) in several parks and is working to install them in all parks with athletic fields, sport courts, and active amenities.

If someone experiences a sudden cardiac arrest, an AED can be used to restart their heart. In the event of a cardiac emergency, always call 911 before attempting to find an AED.

The AEDs in Kirkland's parks are simple to use, with step-by-step verbal instructions. AEDs are safe and will not deliver a shock unless the unit determines one is needed. Watch and learn how to use the AEDs in Kirkland Parks. In the event of a cardiac emergency, always call 911 before attempting to find an AED.
