Utilities

The City of Kirkland is involved in the provision of a number of utilities including trash, recycling and compost; water and sewer; and stormwater. See the boxes below for information on these utilities. Links to utilities that are provided by outside agencies can found to the right. Some Kirkland residents may receive their water and sewer services from another agency, please view this water and sewer service map(PDF, 12MB) to find out who is your water and sewer provider.

How to pay your bill

City Provided Utilities

Trash, Recycling + Compost Service

Curbside garbage, recycling and compost service is provided by Waste Management.

Storm & Surface Water

We manage surface and stormwater to improve the health of our waterways, reduce flooding and ensure proper operation of public and private systems.

Fats, Oils, Grease (FOG)

Tips for dealing with fat, oil, and grease for residents, businesses, and restaurants.

Water

Information about paying your bill, backflow prevention, water conservation and where your water comes from can be found here.

Electric

Electric services in Kirkland are provided by Puget Sound Energy.

Gas services in Kirkland are provided by Puget Sound Energy.

 

Water

Some Kirkland residents may receive their water/sewer services from the Northshore Utility District. The Woodinville Water District also serves some Kirkland residents.

Fire COVID Alert
The Kirkland Fire Department urges any resident experiencing a life threatening emergency to call 911. Requesting help from your firefighters does not increase the likelihood of contracting COVID-19. Your firefighters diligently use the appropriate personnel protective equipment, sanitize fire engines, aid cars and fire stations and practice good hygiene to protect the public and themselves.
