Special Events Logo

Special Event Services provides a portfolio of services designed to support Kirkland’s neighborhoods, as well as the city's special event, business, and film production industries. Through our one-stop permitting process, our dedicated staff can assist you with all aspects of an event that relate to the use of public property.

Apply for a Banner Permit

Display public service messages or announcements promoting community events via street, vertical, and park banners.

Apply for a Film Production Permit

Permits for commercial filming activities such as motion pictures, documentaries, music videos, TV episodes, still photo and web content.

Apply for a Block Party Permit

Permit your neighborhood activities that temporarily close a street.

Apply for a Special Event Permit

Permit your festival, concert, parade, race, walk, ride, or other publicly attended activities that impact public property.

Apply for a Free Speech Permit

This protected class of activities includes conduct for the sole purpose of which is to communicate political or religious ideas.

The weekly farmers market offers high quality goods that are grown, produced and hand-crafted here in the state of Washington.

In response to guidance from Public Health Seattle-King County, we encourage members of the community to implement social distancing as much as possible and in the interim use the following methods to interact at City Council meetings. Virtual meetings are broadcast live on KGOV channel 21 and live-streamed on the City's website (links posted on the individual meetings under related information).

To maintain flexibility, we’ll be announcing events one at a time rather than scheduling out several months in advance as in the past. We are beginning to schedule some recycling events for items with higher environmental impact and lower contact, such as batteries and shredding.

Fire COVID Alert
The Kirkland Fire Department urges any resident experiencing a life threatening emergency to call 911. Requesting help from your firefighters does not increase the likelihood of contracting COVID-19. Your firefighters diligently use the appropriate personnel protective equipment, sanitize fire engines, aid cars and fire stations and practice good hygiene to protect the public and themselves.
