Design Review Board Vacancies

The City of Kirkland is seeking applicants to fill two vacancies with terms ending March 31, 2030, on the Design Review Board. All appointments will be made by the City Council.

Applicant Qualifications

  • Individuals with professional expertise in the areas of design or building and construction; or Kirkland residents with ability to read and understand architectural plans and general knowledge of building and design.
  • Individuals who are residents and/or whose place of business is located within Kirkland will be preferred.

About

The role of the Design Review Board is to review and make decisions upon proposed development projects for compliance with City of Kirkland design guidelines in several of Kirkland's business districts; and to evaluate existing design policies. 

All board and commissions hold regular public meetings and are non-salaried. The Design Review Board meets on the first and third Mondays of the month at 7:00 p.m.

Applications must be submitted to the City Clerk’s Office via online submission through our application portal, or may be mailed to Kirkland City Hall, 123 5th Avenue, Kirkland WA 98033.  Applications are due by 4 p.m., Wednesday, April 29, 2026.
