KIRKLAND, Wash. – The City of Kirkland invites community members to join neighbors across the city for National Night Out on Tuesday, August 5, 2025. National Night Out is a nationwide annual event that brings people together to strengthen police-community partnerships and neighbor-to-neighbor connections, all with the goal of making our neighborhoods safer and more connected.
In Kirkland, community members are encouraged to host block parties, BBQs, or neighborhood festivals and invite local police officers, crisis responders, firefighters, and City Councilmembers to stop by and say hello.
“National Night Out is a great chance to meet your neighbors and connect with the first responders and City Councilmembers who serve Kirkland,” said Kirkland Mayor Kelli Curtis. “If you’ve been looking for a reason to bring your neighborhood together, this is the perfect opportunity.”
To request visits from Kirkland Police, Fire, crisis responders, or Councilmembers, please fill out the First Responder/City Councilmember Request Form by Monday, July 21. First responders and Councilmembers will visit neighborhood events between 6 and 9 p.m. Availability of first responders is based on emergency call volume.
Planning to close your street for the party? You’ll need a block party permit, which must also be submitted by July 21, at least 10 business days before the event. Block party permit fees are waived for National Night Out events held on National Night Out's designated day, August 5, 2025. Only residents of the street being closed may apply.
For all event details, permit applications, and request forms, visit the City’s National Night Out webpage.
