Northeast 73rd Street water main

A Kirkland contractor is planning in February to begin installing a new eight-inch, ductile iron water main along Northeast 73rd Street. 

MAP of NE-73rd-St-water(PDF, 76KB) The new water main will replace the 60-year-old, six-inch concrete water main that has required excessive maintenance for more than a decade.  

To replace the water main, the contractor, SCI Infrastructure, will remove a dozen small, deciduous trees between Northeast 73rd and 74th streets. The contractor will also remove the gate and stairs that provides access between Northeast 73rd Street and Holy Family Catholic Parish. 

WHEN: Crews work from 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday. SCI Infrastructure expects to complete water main installation and restoration by May. 

WHAT TO EXPECT: The contractor plans between Feb. 17 and Feb. 21 to remove a dozen small deciduous trees. 

  • Crews will not dig after 3 p.m.
  • SCI Infrastructure plans in mid-February to remove the fence, gate and stairs between Holy Family Catholic Parish and Northeast 73rd Street. The contractor will replace the fence. It will not replace the stairs or gate.
