Sending packages to an inmate housed at the Kirkland Jail

The only items an inmate may receive are soft cover books and reading materials sent directly from a publisher or retailer only. Examples of an acceptable source would be Amazon, Barnes and Noble, etc. Packages sent from a private party or containing restricted material will be denied and returned to sender.

NOTICE: All incoming and outgoing mail will be opened and inspected by corrections staff. Obscene or inappropriate materials are not allowed. Introducing contraband to a correctional facility (through mail or by any other means) is a felony. Incoming legal mail will be opened and inspected for contraband in the presence of the inmate.

Inmate Phone Calls

Inmates are afforded the opportunity to make a free phone call at time of booking only. All subsequent phone calls available to inmates are collect only.  Inmates are not able to receive incoming calls and corrections staff will not pass messages to inmates.

Exceptions can be made for attorneys, clergy or medical/mental health officials.

How to accept a collect phone call from an inmate:

If you are unable to accept a collect call from an inmate (most mobile phones do not allow you to accept incoming collect calls) you must set up an account with our phone service provider at www.CTEL.us or by calling 1-866-430-0561.  NOTICE:  This account allows YOU to RECEIVE a collect call from an inmate, but DOES NOT allow the inmate to make other outgoing calls to other phone numbers.

How to block calls from an inmate:

If you are receiving unwanted phone calls from an inmate, please contact the Kirkland Jail directly at 425-587-3465 to have your number blocked.

Technical Support:

If you have technical or billing issues related to the phone system please refer to www.CTEL.us or call them at 1-866-430-0561. Kirkland Jail staff is not able to provide billing or technical assistance.

NOTICE:  All phone calls are recorded and subject to monitoring by jail staff with the exception of privileged parties (ie. attorneys).

In person visitation can be arranged for attorneys, clergy or medical/mental health officials.
