Community Building

Kirkland Parks and Community Services provides a variety of community building events to enhance the quality of life for community members. Special events such as See Spot Splash, Harvest Festival, and DÍa de los Muertos provide opportunities to participate, be inclusive, and bring the community, businesses, and the City together. All of the community building events take place in Kirkland.

Wheels & Reels Drive-in Movie Series

Enjoy a night out under the stars at Juanita Beach Park with our Drive-in Movie Series. The parking lot opens at 6:00 PM and the movie starts at 7:00 PM. Watch each movie on our giant LED movie screen! $20 per vehicle, pre-registration is required. To register, visit or call 425-587-3336.

It's a dog's day in Kirkland! Bring Fido for a splash and play day at the Peter Kirk Pool followed by some off-leash fun at Lee Johnson Ballfield! Visit vendor booths from dog businesses, rescue groups and visit our coffee food truck! $10 per dog, pre-registration is highly recommended, or pay upon entering. The Harvest Festival will feature tractor pulled hayrides, food trucks, music, apple cider pressing demonstrations, activities for children at the “Kids Korral”, seasonal competitions, and a vendor marketplace.

Play boo bingo in your vehicle with our giant LED movie screen and wear your costume for the costume parade. Bingo cards are provided, and prize baskets are awarded to winners! Holiday Lights

Holiday Lights is a community home outdoor light decorating contest. Participants will submit photos of their outdoor home decorations to be added to Kirkland's Parks and Community Services Facebook page for judging by the community. Register to compete in these categories: Traditional, Contemporary, Theme Concept (i.e., Polar Express, Santa's Workshop, etc.) Winners will receive a victory yard sign and bragging rights. Light Up Kirkland

Light Up Kirkland is a magical event held at Juanita Beach Park. Partake in some  cocoa and cookies as you stroll on the grounds of the park to view a winter wonderland of lights, followed by a bonfire on the beach and music from local students.
