Kirkland, Wash. – On Monday, January 06, 2025, just before 3 p.m., Kirkland Police responded to a vehicle vs pedestrian collision in the Finn Hill area. The motorist, an 81-year-old Kirkland resident, left the roadway and struck two juveniles.
The collision occurred when the driver was traveling southbound, in the 13700 block of 84th Avenue NE. After Officers arrived, the driver informed them that he fell asleep which caused him to leave the road. His vehicle then struck the two juveniles who were on a pedestrian walkway adjacent to the road. The juveniles received medical treatment on scene but required transport to the hospital for serious, non-life-threatening injuries.
The driver was an initial caller to 911 and has been fully participating with the ongoing investigation.
