KIRKLAND, Wash. - Effective immediately, the Kirkland Fire Department (KFD), in coordination with the King County Fire Chief’s Association and the King County Fire Marshal’s Office, is terminating a Fire Safety Burn Ban that went into effect September 9. Due to recent precipitation and cooler weather, wildland fuels have recovered moisture and the local wildland fire danger has reduced to a level where it is safe to resume all properly regulated fires.
Termination of this Burn Ban means recreational and residential fires are now allowed in the City, per KFD’s Fire Prevention Bureau outdoor burning requirements. This means recreational fires are allowed without a permit, as long as:
