KIRKLAND, Wash. – City Hall for All is here again! The City of Kirkland invites community members and neighbors from across the region to celebrate the work in communities to become welcoming places for all in Kirkland.

In alignment with Welcoming Week, the City of Kirkland is hosting this free, family-friendly event at Kirkland City Hall (123 5th Ave.) on Saturday, September 13 from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.

“City Hall for All is one of my favorite events each year because it shows what makes Kirkland so special - neighbors connecting, cultures sharing, and everyone feeling like they belong here,” said Deputy Mayor Jay Arnold. “This year is especially meaningful as we celebrate Kirkland becoming the first city in Washington to be recognized as a Certified Welcoming Place by Welcoming America. Come help us mark this momentous achievement for our entire community and join in the spirit of belonging at this year’s City Hall for All.”

City Hall for All is made up of four elements: Community, Sustainability, Pop-Up Market, and Trucks.

  • Community Booths

Over 40 City departments and community partners will have interactive booths with free giveaways, ranging from tree saplings to leaf rakes, and information on their programs and services. You can also meet City Councilmembers and learn more about several City priorities. For a full list, visit the City Hall for All webpage

This Week in Kirkland Podcast will be recorded live! Stop by to listen, get swag, play trivia, and enjoy refreshments at the post-recording mixer.

  • Sustainability Showcase

People in Kirkland want our community to be green, livable, walkable, and vibrant. You can learn more on how we all can help keep Kirkland green and healthy at our reuse demonstrations, eco-themed crafts and games, and an electric bike test ride.

  • Eastside Made Pop-Up Market

In partnership with One Eastside Spark, explore over 50 local artisans, small businesses, and food trucks arrayed around City Hall.

  • Truck-a-Palooza

Over 16 different cars and trucks will be parked along 5th Avenue between 1st and 2nd Street for all to enjoy. For a full list of vehicles, visit the City Hall for All webpage

The Fire Department Ladder Truck will again feature its famous Parachute Drop, allowing kids to catch and keep the parachute.

Bloodworks Northwest will have one of their “blood drive mobiles” parked along 5th Avenue alongside the rest of the big trucks! Appointments are required for the best possible donation experience. Same-day appointments might be available. Photo ID required.

Inside City Hall, attendees can find:

  • Open City Services

City Hall is typically only open during the weekdays, but you can get City services on a Saturday. Apply for a passport (by appointment only), apply for pet licenses, or pay utility bills on site.

  • Story Time with the Mayor and Library Board

Join Mayor Kelli Cutis and the Kirkland Library Board for a fun children’s book reading and a free book swap in the Council Chambers.

  • Future Mayor Photos

Kids can take a photo in Council Chambers to dream up their future as mayor.

Bring your clothes to mend holes and sew buttons, and small appliances to fix, like lamps, radios, toasters, and more.

  • Young Palette Art Exhibit

Along City Hall’s central hallway, enjoy over 30 art pieces from K-12 artists from local schools.
