Kirkland's recycling collection events allows residents to dispose of hard to recycle items. All items collected will be reused or recycled.

Please contact us with any questions about the event by noon on Friday, May 15, 2026.

Some items have a cost to drop off, and only cash is accepted as payment, please bring exact change. Vendor reserves the right to refuse any item deemed unacceptable or not recyclable.

Accepted Items: Free Accepted Items: Fees apply- Cash Only

Batteries (household): AAAA, AAA, AA, A, C, D cell alkaline batteries, button batteries, rechargeable batteries.
Not accepted: Lithium-ion batteries like tool and vape. Visit https://batterynetwork.org for more battery recycling options.

Batteries (Lead-acid): car, truck, marine, & motorcycle

Electronics:
• Cell phones
• DVD/Blu-ray players and portable DVD players
• E-readers
• Fax machines
• Keyboards
• Landline telephones
• Laptops
• Mice
• Printers and copiers ($5 each)
• Scanners
• Tablets
• VCRs
Not accepted: TVs, computers, and monitors. Bring to E-cycle Washington drop-off locations 

Scrap metal: ferrous & non-ferrous metals  
• Appliances
• Auto parts
• Barbeques
• Bikes
• Microwaves
• Engines (drain fluids)
• Lawn mowers (drain fluids)
• Household appliances
• Water heater ($5 charge for water heater that still has insulation coating)
Not accepted: rubber/oil coated; contaminated paint, oil, chemicals, gas, hazardous materials; electrical ballasts; and sealed drums.

Scrap wood: (two loads/household, must be clean - not painted, stained, or treated)

• Branches >6" diameter
• Logs
• Pallets
• Plywood
Not accepted: painted/stained wood, particle  board, small branches, and brush

CFC appliances: ($35 fee/item)
• Air conditioners
• Freezers
• Refrigerators
Refrigerators or freezers cannot be sealed or contain food

Mattresses & box springs: ($35 fee/item)
Clean and dry, any size. Not accepted: futons, wet soiled items, furniture, and frames.

Porcelain tubs, toilets, & sinks: remove seats, hardware, and wax base rings ($25 fee/item)

Propane tanks: residential ($10 fee/item) and camping ($2 fee/item)

Styrofoam blocks and packing peanuts ($10/vehicle): clean and dry expanded polystyrene blocks white in color, packing peanuts (any color). NO TAPE, STICKERS, OR LABELSNot accepted: foam cushions, hot tub covers, and insulation.

Tires, passenger and truck – Limit 6 passenger tires per vehicle
• 18" or below off rim - 6 FREE, $3 for each extra
• $6 fee for all passenger tires on rim
• $15 fee for each large truck tire off rim
• $30 fee for each truck tire on rim

Free Shredding: Shredding and recycling of confidential paper materials. Staples OK. No binder clips. Limit: 4 file-size (12"x12"x16") boxes or 5 paper grocery bags per car. No exceptions.
