WHAT: A Kirkland contractor begins pedestrian safety improvements on the west side of 124th Avenue Northeast near Northeast 145th Street. The project builds more than 300’ of new sidewalk and installs a new Rectangular Rapid Flashing Beacon (RRFB) crossing which connects pedestrians to a southbound King County Metro bus stop. The crossing includes a center island median for increased pedestrian safety.

WHEN: Fury Site Works, Inc. planned work hours are between 7 a.m. and 5 p.m. Monday thru Friday. Construction is expected to be complete within 60 working days from February 17.

WHAT TO EXPECT: The contractor is required to maintain access for emergency responders, mail delivery, local residents and businesses. Drivers should plan for traffic delays during construction, with typical traffic control shifting southbound traffic into the center lane.   Project updates will be provided on this website regularly on the right hand sidebar (computer) or at the bottom of this webpage (on mobile).
