August 19, 2024 - The damaged fence from has been repaired by PW Maintenance. A pavement replacement project will freshen up NE 132nd Street this September, smoothing the roadway from 100th Avenue NE to 113th Avenue NE.
(Aug. 30, 2023) -- PSE has completed the work to de-energize the old signal cabinet that was in the way of the new curb and gutter for the new right-turn lane. The contractor is working to schedule the asphalt to overlay the intersection, but the work will not be complete before school starts. The project is expected to be complete by late September.
(Mar 23) -- PSE intends to use night work to relocate it's power lines to the new poles due to traffic control. The new power pole is located in the plantar strip between the future sidewalk and the new turn lane.
(Dec 8) -- This project is expected to begin construction on Tuesday, January 3rd, as the materials essential to begin construction have been scheduled for delivery. In advance of the City's project, PSE will be pruning the trees away from the power lines so that the contractor can safely remove the trees. This PSE work is expect to begin December 19th.
(Sept 1) -- The availability of materials essential to begin construction on the new right turn lane to Juanita High School Access Road from NE 132nd Street have delayed the start of construction significantly. We have explored the possibility of the substitution of materials or soliciting different suppliers for an earlier delivery date, but those attempts have been unsuccessful. At this point, we expect construction to begin in early 2023, however the exact starting date has not been determined and is dependent on weather conditions due to the nature of the work.
(August 1) -- Supply chain delays have forced the postponement of this project until the required items to begin construction have been secured. Work is expected to begin early September, but the contractor may only implement traffic control measures between the hours of 8:30 a.m. and 2:30 p.m. The City is working with the Lake Washington School District to message the project out to the school community.
(Apr. 2022) -- This project is heading to Kirkland City Council on May 3, 2022 for award of the construction contract(PDF, 1MB). Work is expected to begin once school recesses for summer.
