(Dec 8) -- This project is expected to begin construction on Tuesday, January 3rd, as the materials essential to begin construction have been scheduled for delivery. In advance of the City's project, PSE will be pruning the trees away from the power lines so that the contractor can safely remove the trees. This PSE work is expect to begin December 19th.
(Sept 1) -- The availability of materials essential to begin construction on the new right turn lane to Juanita High School Access Road from NE 132nd Street have delayed the start of construction significantly. We have explored the possibility of the substitution of materials or soliciting different suppliers for an earlier delivery date, but those attempts have been unsuccessful. At this point, we expect construction to begin in early 2023, however the exact starting date has not been determined and is dependent on weather conditions due to the nature of the work.
(August 1) -- Supply chain delays have forced the postponement of this project until the required items to begin construction have been secured. Work is expected to begin early September, but the contractor may only implement traffic control measures between the hours of 8:30 a.m. and 2:30 p.m. The City is working with the Lake Washington School District to message the project out to the school community.
(Apr. 2022) -- This project is heading to Kirkland City Council on May 3, 2022 for award of the construction contract(PDF, 1MB). Work is expected to begin once school recesses for summer.
