2024 Aging and Failing Sites

In support of the City Council’s “Dependable Infrastructure” goal, the Annual Replacement of Aging/Failing Infrastructure project provides for regular replacement of Surface Water Utility infrastructure that has surpassed expected and useful service life and/or is experiencing failure.

The 2024 project addresses service needs in five locations in the City.  To economize costs for design and other soft costs, these five aging infrastructure locations were combined into one design and construction project, and they include:

  • The first location is in the Finn Hill neighborhood between 86th PL NE and NE 126th Pl, and will use a cure-in-place-pipe (CIPP) lining method to rehabilitate approximately 142 lineal feet of an existing 12-inch corrugated metal pipe. This project will also replace two storm drain frames/covers, and will include minor curb/gutter, sidewalk, and asphalt replacement.
  • The second location is in the Moss Bay neighborhood and is located along Lake Street between Kirkland Ave and Park Lane. This project will use a cure-in-place-pipe (CIPP) lining method to rehabilitate 150 lineal feet of an existing 24-inch diameter concrete pipe.
  • The third location is in the Lakeview neighborhood, at Lakeview Dr and NE 68th, and will use cure-in-place-pipe (CIPP) lining method to rehabilitate approximately 138 lineal feet of existing 12-inch diameter concrete/PVC pipe.
  • The fourth location is in the Kingsgate neighborhood, at 120th PL NE and NE 145th St, just south of South Norway Hill Park. This project will use cure-in-place-pipe (CIPP) lining method to rehabilitate approximately 117 lineal feet of existing 12-inch diameter concrete pipe and install a new catch basin at the outfall of the pipe in the park.
  • The fifth location is in the Kingsgate neighborhood, along NE 132nd St between 124th Ave NE and 122nd PL NE. This project will use cure-in-place-pipe (CIPP) lining method to rehabilitate approximately 612 lineal feet of existing 24-inch diameter corrugated metal pipe. This project will also replace three storm drain frames/covers, and will include minor curb/gutter, sidewalk, and asphalt replacement.
