Location of 3 sites for 2021 aging infrastructure project.

In support of the City Council’s “Dependable Infrastructure” goal, the Annual Replacement of Aging/Failing Infrastructure project provides for regular replacement of Surface Water Utility infrastructure that has surpassed expected and useful service life and/or is experiencing failure.

The 2021 project addresses service needs in three locations in the City.  To economize costs for design and other soft costs, these three aging infrastructure locations were combined into one design and construction project, and they include:

  • The first location is in the Moss Bay neighborhood along Kirkland Ave. and will replace approximately 124 lineal feet of an existing 12-inch concrete pipe with solid wall Polyvinyl chloride (PVC) pipe.
  • The second location is in the Juanita neighborhood and is located at the intersection of 100th Place NE and NE 132nd Street and will replace approximately 42 lineal feet of an existing 12-inch diameter corrugated metal pipe (CMP) with PVC pipe.
  • The third location is in the Kingsgate neighborhood, along NE 141st Way, and will use cure-in-place-pipe (CIPP) lining method to rehabilitate approximately 271 lineal feet of existing 12-inch diameter concrete pipe and install a new catch basin.
