132nd Avenue Northeast intersection improvements

RENDERING-132nd-100th.png

A Kirkland contractor plans to resume progress in August on an intersection project that will improve access in the North Rose Hill neighborhood.

After it has received the intersection's traffic signal poles, Kamins Construction will continue installing a turn signal on all four legs of 132nd Avenue Northeast’s intersection with Northeast 100th Street. Contracted crews will also add a northbound-to-westbound left turn lane from 132nd Avenue Northeast onto Northeast 100th Street. The project includes new bicycle lanes, sections of sidewalk and curb ramps near the intersection.

To improve crosswalk safety in the meantime, the contractor has installed a set of temporary rapid flashing beacons.

The City of Redmond is paying for half of the project.

WHEN: Kamins Construction plans to begin construction on Feb. 2. The contractor expects to complete the project in fall. Its crews are allowed to work eight hours a day and to affect the roadway from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., Monday through Friday.

WHAT TO EXPECT: Community members should expect intermittent traffic delays along the route, as well as typical construction noise.
