Salary Commission Vacancies

The City of Kirkland is seeking applicants for three vacancies with terms ending on March 31, 2031 on the Salary Commission. There is one incumbent who is eligible to apply for reappointment to an additional term. All appointments are made by the City Council.

Applicant Qualifications

Applicants must be at least 18 years of age, a resident of Kirkland, and shall not be an officer, official, or employee of the city or an immediate family member of an officer, official, or employee of the city.

About

As authorized by RCW 35.21.015, in 2005 the City of Kirkland established a Salary Commission to set the salaries of the Mayor and City Council Members.

All board and commissions hold regular public meetings and are non-salaried. The Salary Commission meets at least once a year, usually during the months of August or September. Meetings start at 5:00 p.m.
