Planning Commission Vacancies
The City of Kirkland is seeking applicants to a vacancy with a term ending March 31, 2030 on the Planning Commission. All appointments will be made by the City Council.
Applicant Qualifications
- Individuals must be at least 18 years of age and reside within the city limits of Kirkland.
About
The Planning Commission advises the City Council on all matters relating to the Kirkland Comprehensive Plan and use regulations. It occasionally conducts hearings on certain development proposals and advises the Council on whether those proposals are consistent with City policies. Planning Commissioners may also need to attend additional evening meetings or community workshops and events as needed, and be willing to commit the time to participate on task forces and citizen advisory committees.
All board and commissions hold regular public meetings and are non-salaried. The Planning Commission meets regularly on the second and fourth Thursday of the month at 6:00 p.m.

Applications must be submitted to the City Clerk’s Office via online submission through our application portal, or may be mailed to Kirkland City Hall, 123 5th Avenue, Kirkland WA 98033. Applications are due by 4 p.m., Wednesday, April 29, 2026.
