Annexation of the Finn Hill, North Juanita, and Kingsgate (now known as Evergreen Hill) areas took effect on June 1, 2011 and the City of Kirkland welcomed more than 30,000 new residents. New residents are encouraged to stay informed and become involved with their local government and their neighborhood associations. If you are an annexed resident and are unable to find an answer to your question on this website, please submit an “Ask a Question” or call City Hall at 425-587-3000.
Best way to stay informed
Get the City information you want most in your email by subscribing to Kirkland Email Alerts. A great way to stay informed is to watch City Council meetings – either on your TV or from your computer. The City developed several Annexation Frequently Asked Question handouts that were last updated in April 2011.
Best way to be involved
Neighborhood association meetings are held on a regular basis. Check the Neighborhood Services website for a schedule. Feel free to attend, and speak at, City Council meetings or advisory board meetings should you have an opinion, concern, or comment to share about a proposed project, regulation, or legislative action. The City produced a Services Guide which is a great source of information about city services, programs, and contact information.
