Statement by Mayor Sweet Condemning Terrorist Attacks Against Israel

As the Mayor of the City of Kirkland, I condemn all acts of terrorism and mourn with the Jewish community over the recent attack by Hamas militants.  I strongly echo the words of Gov. Jay Inslee: “Washingtonians are horrified by the unspeakable violence in Israel. I condemn this attack by Hamas. There is no excuse for targeting and killing civilians. We hope for the swift recovery of the injured, the safe release of those taken hostage, and a halt to this violence." 

The City continues to be in dialogue with leaders of our faith communities. The City stands by its commitment to be a safe and belonging community for all, and one that is free of hate and bias.
