Kirkland Police are asking for the community’s assistance to help identify a suspect who snatched a woman’s purse from a table at the Houghton Starbucks at approximately 11 a.m. this morning. Two bystanders chased the suspect into the parking lot where they struggled with the suspect and successfully retrieved the purse. One bystander was assaulted and sustained minimal injury. The suspect is believed to have fled the area.
A photograph of the suspect is provided. The suspect is described as approximately 6’2” and 230 lbs.
School Resource Officers immediately notified the public schools nearby who followed lockout procedures while police searched the area with a K-9 unit. Unfortunately, the suspect was not located. Officers worked with the schools in the area to ensure school safety for the remainder of the day.
