On Tuesday, May 5, 2026, the Kirkland Police Department, with assistance from several neighboring law enforcement agencies, executed search warrants at three businesses connected to an investigation into suspected human trafficking and promoting prostitution.

The investigation began after Kirkland Police received multiple community complaints about activity at a local business. Through the course of the investigation, detectives developed probable cause to believe the business was being used as a front for promoting prostitution and human trafficking. Detectives also identified additional affiliated businesses outside Kirkland, prompting a coordinated, multi-jurisdictional response.

On May 5, Kirkland Police and partner agencies executed three simultaneous search warrants at separate business locations. Two suspects were arrested for promoting prostitution.

Kirkland Police also partnered with the nonprofit organization The More We Love, which was onsite during the warrant services to provide immediate support, resources, and care coordination for potential victims of trafficking.

“Human trafficking is a serious crime that exploits vulnerable people and causes lasting harm,” said Police Chief Mike St Jean. “The Kirkland Police Department is committed to supporting survivors, responding to community concerns, and holding those who exploit others accountable.”
