Kirkland Police Arrest Two Subjects Burglarizing Retail Store

Kirkland, WA – At 6:31 this morning, multiple persons called to report seeing two males attempting to smash the glass storefront of the Zumiez store located at 11901 NE Village Plaza in the Village of Totem Lake.

Witnesses observed the suspects throwing objects at the window in an attempt to break it and ultimately used a fence post to smash the glass and enter the store. Witnesses also advised the suspects fled the store running on foot and carrying clothing merchandise. Kirkland Officers arrived quickly and spotted two males matching the descriptions provided by the witnesses. The suspects attempted to flee from officers but were apprehended and arrested. Both suspects were juveniles with one being a Kirkland resident.

The Kirkland Police Department would like to thank those individuals who did not hesitate and called to report the incident. Their actions, coupled with the quick response of the Kirkland Police Department, created a partnership which resulted in the arrest of the two suspects. This was a great example of collaboration between community members and the police department in fighting crime.
