Kirkland, WA – On January 6, 2019 at approximately 0900 hours, Kirkland Police responded to a report of a shot fired and a subject down at 450 Central Way. Police arrived to find a single male victim with gunshot wounds. The male was transported immediately to Harborview Hospital and will recover from his injuries. During the subsequent investigation Kirkland Police positively identified four adult suspects. On January 8, 2019, with the assistance of Pierce County Sheriff’s Office and the Tacoma Police Department, Kirkland Police arrested one of the male suspects identified as 21-year-old David A. Garcia and one of the female suspects identified as 18-year-old Tashylah Combs.On January 9, 2019, Kirkland Police Detectives worked to communicate with family members of the other male suspect, 23-year-old Gabriel Garcia. Kirkland Police Detectives were able to take Garcia into custody after he agreed to meet officers in a public location and turn himself in. He was arrested without incident. Later that same day the last outstanding suspect, 18-year-old female Taylor Campbell, was located in Pierce County and taken into custody by Kirkland Police Detectives.
The investigation revealed that the suspects came to Kirkland seeking retaliation against the adult male victim who is the ex-boyfriend of one of the female suspects. One suspect directed them to where the victim was staying for the night with a friend in downtown Kirkland. Three of the suspects physically assaulted the victim and one of the four suspects shot him with a handgun they had brought to the scene. All four then fled the scene.The suspects were booked into the King County Jail and the Regional Justice Center on charges of Assault 1st Degree.
