KIRKLAND, Wash. – Discover hidden gems and shop sustainably at our first-ever Junk in the Trunk Community Sale, happening Saturday, May 3, 2025, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Houghton Park & Play.

This unique, vehicle trunk-based community sale offers a fun opportunity to explore secondhand treasures, reduce waste, and connect with neighbors. Community sellers will offer a wide variety of gently used items and vintage finds from their trunks and the space next to their vehicles.

“Events like Junk in the Trunk show how small actions can support a more sustainable future,” said Councilmember Jon Pascal. “By reusing and repurposing items instead of throwing them away, we’re making a positive impact on our environment and having a great time doing it.”

The event will take place at the temporary Houghton Park & Play at 6920 NE 70th Place in Kirkland’s Bridle Trails neighborhood. To add to the fun, local food trucks will be on site, serving up tasty bites while community members browse and bargain hunt.

“Junk in the Trunk is about more than just great bargains, it’s about bringing people together and encouraging mindful, community-centered choices,” Councilmember Pascal added.

The community sale starts at 10 a.m. sharp. No early bird shopping please. For more information about Junk in the Trunk, please visit www.kirklandwa.gov/CommunityBuildingEvents
