The annual Celebrate Kirkland! Parade returns Monday, July 4, 2022 to downtown Kirkland. The event is accepting applications for parade float entries and volunteers (age 16+). This year’s theme is “Celebrate Kirkland, Together Again”.

“We are thrilled to have this beloved Kirkland tradition back in person,” says Mayor Penny Sweet. “Being a volunteer or participating in the parade is a great way to meet new people and support the community. We need everyone’s involvement to make it a success. Whether you want to show off your float in the procession, volunteer to keep everyone safe and having fun, or come as a spectator – we want to see the whole community show up.”

The 4th of July Parade is a Kirkland tradition and fun for the whole family. The itinerary includes a kids’ decorating event at Marina Park Pavilion at 10:30 a.m., a kids’ walking parade at 11:30 a.m., and the Hometown Parade at 12 p.m.

“Remember, the children’s parade is open to all kids,” says Mayor Sweet. “Please join us starting at 10 a.m. in the Marina Park Pavilion to get yourself, your bikes, and your pets decorated and join in the parade!”

Those interested in volunteering can sign up with the Kirkland Downtown Association and email info@kirklanddowntown.org for questions.

Those interested in driving a float in the parade can apply through the Kirkland Downtown Association and email info@kirklanddowntown.org for questions.
