KIRKLAND, Wash. – The City of Kirkland invites the community to a ribbon cutting ceremony and celebration for Fisk Family Park on Thursday, November 20, 2025, at 11 a.m. Join City leaders, partners, and community members for a ribbon cutting ceremony to celebrate this new neighborhood park.

“Fisk Family Park is more than just a park; it reflects our community’s values of preserving natural spaces and honoring Kirkland’s history,” said Councilmembers John Tymczyszyn. “With this park, we are creating a legacy of open space that will be enjoyed for generations and strengthening the connections between our neighborhoods, trails, and parks.”

In September 2023, the City purchased the 0.42-acre property, which features a stream and natural open space. The park is named Fisk Family Park to honor James G. Fisk and his family’s contribution to the community. The park purchase was made possible in part through donations from the Kirkland Community Foundation.

“This park represents what makes Kirkland special – partnerships and a shared commitment to preserving nature close to home,” said Kirkland Parks and Community Services Director Lynn Zwaagstra. “We’re grateful to the Kirkland Community Foundation and the many community members who lifted up the idea of preserving this historical property and keeping it as natural space for the community to enjoy.”

The ribbon cutting will include a brief ceremony and light refreshments. All community members are encouraged to attend. Fisk Family Park is located at 212 6th Street South, Kirkland, WA 98033, next to the Cross Kirkland Corridor.
