The City of Kirkland has selected Andreana Campbell as its new Government Affairs Manager, effective May 1, 2026.
Campbell has served as the City’s Interim Government Affairs Manager for the past eight months, helping guide Kirkland through one of the most challenging legislative sessions in recent years. Following a competitive recruitment process, City leadership selected Campbell based on her exceptional performance in the interim role, extensive institutional knowledge, and nearly a decade of dedicated service to the Kirkland community.
“Andreana has demonstrated outstanding leadership, professionalism, and a deep commitment to the City of Kirkland throughout her career,” said Councilmember Amy Falcone. “Her ability to navigate complex policy issues, build strong relationships, and advance the Council’s priorities makes her exceptionally well-suited for this role.”
Campbell joined the City of Kirkland in 2017 as a Deputy City Clerk in the Finance and Administration Department. In 2019, she moved to the City Manager’s Office, where she served as a Management Analyst and later as a Special Projects Coordinator within the Government Affairs and Economic Development unit. In 2025, she was promoted to Senior Management Analyst before being appointed Interim Government Affairs Manager.
Over the years, Campbell has played a key role in many of Kirkland’s most significant initiatives and interdepartmental projects. She coordinated the successful 2020 Fire and Emergency Medical Services ballot measure and has helped lead efforts related to King County’s Health Through Housing project in Kirkland, now known as Sheila Stanton Place. She also contributed to the City’s Community Safety Initiative, which ultimately led to the creation of the Regional Crisis Response Agency. In addition, Campbell has overseen the City’s Volunteer Program and provided policy and legislative support for the Council’s Legislative Workgroup during the past seven legislative sessions.
Before joining Kirkland, Campbell worked for the City of Seattle where she helped implement the City’s Public Records Act software system, trained more than 90 public records officers, and provided public disclosure support across City departments and the Mayor’s Office. Prior to moving to Kirkland in 2015, Campbell also served as a policy advisor on a successful California State Senate campaign in Los Angeles. Originally from Northern California, she holds a Master of Public Administration from California State University, Long Beach, and a bachelor’s degree in international relations from University of California, Davis.
“I’ve always been passionate about serving the community that I call home, and local government provides a unique opportunity to make a meaningful impact,” said Campbell. “I’m honored to continue advocating for legislation and regional partnerships that support the Council’s goals and help keep Kirkland such an exceptional place for everyone to live, work, and thrive.”
