KIRKLAND, Wash. – The City of Kirkland introduces The Kirklander, a brand-new printed newsletter landing in mailboxes across the city. It’s designed to help you stay connected with what’s happening in your local government and your community.

“The City Council is committed to keeping our community informed and involved, and The Kirklander is designed to make staying up to date easy and accessible,” said Kirkland City Councilmember Jon Pascal. “Whether you’ve lived here for decades or just moved in, you’ll find something useful and relevant inside.”

Delivered by mail twice a year to every Kirkland address, The Kirklander highlights the people, programs, and progress that make Kirkland the place we all know and love.  Each issue will feature updates on City projects, upcoming events, safety tips, ways to get involved, and helpful resources to connect with City Council, staff, and neighbors. It’s a one-stop snapshot of what’s happening across Kirkland.

The inaugural issue of The Kirklander covers the summer and fall seasons and is organized around four summer-themed spreads:

  • Learn how Kirkland is making it a Summer of Progress by investing millions to improve safety for walkers, rollers, and drivers.
  • Explore rebate programs for heat pumps, tips for natural yard care, and guidance on summer tree pruning and make it a Summer of Sustainability.
  • Enjoy a Summer of Belonging by discovering events for every age, from fun at the Kirkland Teen Union Building to dogs taking a dip at Peter Kirk Pool.
  • And support a Summer of Safety and hear from Kirkland’s Police and Fire Chiefs on topics like scam prevention, water safety, and the behavioral health team serving residents in crisis.
