KIRKLAND, Wash. – The City of Kirkland’s newly-built Totem Lake Connector (TLC) bike and pedestrian bridge is nearly complete. The community is invited to the grand opening celebration on Saturday, July 8, 2023, at 2 p.m. at the south end of the TLC bridge near LA Fitness. The new TLC bridge connects the two segments of the 5.75-mile Cross Kirkland Corridor currently separated by the wide and busy intersection of Totem Lake Boulevard and Northeast 124th Street.

“After years of planning and construction, we are so excited for our community to experience this amazing new iconic bridge,” said Councilmember Jon Pascal. “It is an excellent blend of form and function, as it safely separates walkers and rollers from drivers, while providing a magnificent panorama of the surrounding Totem Lake Park. The new bridge is a key missing piece that connects the growing Totem Lake area to other Kirkland neighborhoods and provides a high priority connection along the Eastrail.”

With its completion, the TLC bridge gives our community members more options on how they will navigate the City and region, and better prepares the urban center for future growth.

For the TLC bridge opening celebration, people are encouraged to bike/walk/take transit as parking will be limited. Additional details about the event will be posted as the event approaches.
