In alignment with Welcoming Week, the City of Kirkland is hosting its annual City Hall for All (CH4A) event to celebrate the work in Kirkland communities to become welcoming places for everyone. This year, CH4A will be celebrated on Saturday, Sept. 19 from 12 to 4 p.m. at Kirkland City Hall (123 5th Ave.).
“This signature City event brings every part of the community together to celebrate what makes Kirkland one of the best places to live, work, and play,” said Councilmember Shilpa Prem. “Not only is City Hall for All a chance to enjoy food, activities, and connection, it fosters civic engagement, cultural inclusion, and dialogue between the City and the community.”
There are four pillars to CH4A: community, sustainability, economic development, and trucks. Among the highlights are a pop-up market, sustainability showcase, Truck-a-Palooza, student art exhibit, and fixer fair. A new feature of the event is the popular Junk in the Trunk garage sale, where old wares get a second life.
City Hall will also be open for services during CH4A if you’d like to apply for a passport (by appointment only), apply for pet licenses, or pay utility bills on site. There’s something for everyone, and everyone is welcome.
“In 2025, the City of Kirkland became the first city in Washington to be Welcoming Certified,” said Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Belonging Manager Erika Mascorro. “This formal designation by Welcoming America reflects our shared values to create a sense of belonging, and City Hall for All is a part of that.”
Beyond attending, there are many ways to participate, including volunteering, selling food or merchandise, performing, or setting up a booth with a free service. The City is currently seeking vendors, performers, supporting nonprofits, and volunteers interested in participating in this year’s event.
