Pay a Utility Bill

To ensure accurate and timely posting, please write your account number clearly on your check and include the bottom payment stub from your bill. Failure to include this information may delay processing. 

Payments are due on the billing date shown on your statement and will become delinquent if not paid within 30 days of that billing date. A 10% late fee will be assessed on the 31st day if payment has not been received.

Please note that additional reminder notices are not sent prior to the due date, so we encourage you to submit your payment on or before the billing date to avoid late fees. Payments received after 3:00 p.m. on the due date will be credited to your account on the next business day.

Online

Our third party online billing service can process your utility payments (Paymentus).  This service can also send you Email notifications when a new bill is generated, and when a payment is made. You can either process one-time payments or recurring payments through Paymentus, and you can view a copy of your bill online. One-time payments post to your account within two business days.  Recurring payments process on your due date. Recurring payment options include credit card, debit card, and e-check. 

Step 1.Gather your information.

Your account number is on your utility bill.  You can pay either by credit card, debit card, or e-check.

If you do not know your account number contact us.

Step 2.Use the City's online utility payment service.

Either make a one time payment or create an account.

Make an online payment.

Step 3.You will receive an Email confirmation.

If you created an account with the utility payment service you can return to Paymentus to manage your account.

Direct Debit

The City of Kirkland offers two options for automatic payment of your utility bill.

Step 1.You can sign up for our autopay program online through our Paymentus website.

Step 2.We also offer automatic utility bill payment through our direct debit program. 

You may download the form(PDF, 102KB) , read the instructions, and return the completed application to our Utility Billing Dept.

Please remember to have your account number handy.  You will need to input the entire account number including the three zeroes at the end, without the dash.

You are able to pay with Visa, Mastercard, or via E-Check.

Step 2.City Hall Utility Billing Counter

City Hall hours are Monday through Friday from 8 AM to 5 PM, except holidays.

 

Property owners are responsible for all charges on utility bills. In certain cases, billings are made to the tenant or other designee. This alternate billing is for the convenience of the owner. If you are a tenant and receiving a bill, please be advised that a copy of any late notice will also be provided to the property owner or their designee.
