Eastside Climate Partnership Cities launch Solarize Eastside

Curious about powering your home with solar?

The Eastside Climate Partnership Cities are excited to announce the launch of Solarize Eastside, a solar energy campaign available now through July 4th. This program will support Eastside residents to install solar panels on their homes and businesses. Residents of Bellevue, Issaquah, Kirkland, Mercer Island, Redmond, and Sammamish can sign up for a free solar assessment on the program webpage SolarizeEastside.org

Solar energy has grown in popularity for its many environmental and economic benefits. However, installing solar on your home can often feel like a daunting process: from perceived costs and complicated technical details, to selecting an installer. That's why the Eastside Climate Partnership Cities are bringing Solarize Eastside to our communities - a solar group purchasing program.

Solarize Eastside includes vetted local solar installers Artisan Electric, Sunergy Systems, Puget Sound Solar, Sunpath Electric, and Solterra. The installers were selected through a competitive bidding process based on equipment quality, business practices, and special discounted pricing.

Free public workshops will be available throughout the 4 month program and interested residents are encouraged to attend. During these workshops participants will learn more about how solar energy works, solar incentives, and what to expect from the Solarize Eastside program. Attendees will also be able to ask questions directly to the Solarize Eastside team and installers.  Kirkland has two workshops scheduled.  Please register at this link for the April 8th 2025 workshop or this link for the May 15th 2025 workshop.  Both workshops will be held at Kirkland City Hall.

To be part of the program, sign up for a free home assessment at SolarizeEastside.org before July 4th. A Solarize installer will conduct a free solar assessment of your home or business and provide a detailed proposal at the campaign’s discounted rate. If you choose to contract, the installer will schedule the date of your solar installation. Puget Sound Cooperative Credit Union is providing special solar financing for Solarize participants. The knowledgeable Solarize staff are also available to answer questions, review proposals, and guide participants through the process.

Solarize customers benefit from reduced energy bills thanks to their solar production and net metering. Net metering is an agreement between a customer and their utility that allows them to earn utility bill credits for any extra energy that flows back into the electrical grid. Customers can offset their entire electricity bill with solar, except for their fixed monthly customer charge. By prioritizing solar education, consumer protection, & locally trusted installers, Solarize Eastside is making the process of going solar simple, secure, and accessible.
