Private Amendment Request to allow:
- Additional height
- Additional residential on site
Private amendment request to amend Comprehensive Plan & Zoning to increase height from current maximum of 3-5 stories to 8 stories; and allow additional residential use on the entire site. Currently residential uses in CBD 5 are only allowed on properties with frontage on Second Avenue or within 170' of Peter Kirk Park provided that the residential use is limited to 12.5% of the gross floor area for the subject property.
At the 2/28/13 meeting, the Planning Commission voted to recommend postponement of consideration of the MRM PAR to the City Council, so that it could be included in the Comprehensive Plan update.
The City Council made a decision at their 3/19/13 meeting to continue work on the MRM PAR in 2013 and to study the entire CBD 5 zone as part of this review. On April 18, 2013, the City issued a Determination of Significance for the project. The EIS is be a supplement to the existing EIS and Supplemental EIS that were produced as part of the Parkplace project review. Those documents are available at the Parkplace project page
The preliminary scope of the Supplemental EIS included land use, plans & policies, aesthetics, transportation, public services, and utilities. Comments on this scope were taken until May 9, 2013 at 5:00pm
