Juanita Beach Park Playground Replacement
“The Friends of Juanita Beach Park,” in collaboration with The Kirkland Parks Foundation will be kicking off a fundraising campaign to replace the playground at Juanita Beach Park in the summer of 2018. This playground replacement accompanies the Juanita Beach Park bathhouse and picnic shelter project that was designed according to the Park’s Master Plan. The park will go under construction this Fall, resulting in a new bathhouse, picnic shelters, and the relocation of the playground and is scheduled to be completed in June 2019.
Construction plans call for the existing playground to be relocated within the park. Due to the efforts of the Friends of Juanita Beach and The Kirkland Parks Foundation, a new playground was designed, and the community is seeking to raise the funds needed to replace the current equipment with a new playground. The proposed design is fully accessible and calls for an expanded playground, with two distinct sections accommodating kids aged 2-5 and 5-12 years of age.
Staff from Parks and Community Services will present the preferred design concept at the Park Board meeting on Wednesday June 13 at 7pm in Council Chambers. Public comment will be heard at this meeting. Additional feedback can be submitted via email to email@example.com.
Fundraising efforts will begin this summer in order to raise approximately $125,000 needed for this project.
