Councilmember Kelli Curtis first served on the Council in February 2019 when she was selected by City Council to fill a vacancy created by the retirement of former Mayor Amy Walen. During the November 2019 election, Councilmember Curtis was elected to serve a four-year position which will expire in December 2023.

Regional committee assignments: Sound Cities Association (SCA) Public Issues Committee, SCA King Conservation District Advisory Committee alternate, King County Cities Climate Collaboration (K4C) alternate.
About Councilmember Curtis: Prior to becoming a Councilmember, Curtis has served on the City of Kirkland Park Board, the Kirkland Housing Strategy Advisory Group, and the Houghton Community Council. Curtis also volunteers as a Kirkland Community Dialogue Facilitator.
Curtis worked for most of her career in the technology industry as a product manager for companies such as Aldus and Starwave (sold to Adobe and Disney, respectively) before shifting gears and becoming a King County Master Gardener, attending the LWIT Environmental Horticulture program, and launching Pots2Go, a garden design firm featured at the Northwest Flower and Garden show.
She attended the University of Washington, graduating with a Bachelor of Arts in Communication and Media Studies and currently works as a business consultant and garden designer. She has lived in Kirkland for over 25 years with her husband, two children, and numerous pets.
