Kirkland Police have taken person of interest in homicide investigation in custody

Kirkland, WA – A little after 2:00AM this morning, Kirkland Police responded to a residence in the 12900 block of 131st Ave NE for reports of a reports of a disturbance. When Officers arrived, they found an adult male deceased from what detectives believe may be stab wounds.  Officers located another victim who had also been stabbed by the same suspect. She was transported to the hospital with critical injuries but is expected to survive. A K9 track was conducted for the suspect involved however it was determined that the suspect fled the area before police arrived. There were other persons inside the residence at the time of the incident they are being interviewed by Kirkland Police Detectives.  

From the preliminary information gathered Kirkland Police developed a person of interest. This male was known by the deceased victim. At about 8:00AM Kirkland Officers located the person of interest as he was exiting a residence in Redmond WA. The person of interest is in police custody.  Kirkland Detectives believe there are currently no outstanding suspects in this homicide. There will be police on scene throughout the next few days while processing takes place, and as the investigation of this homicide continues.
