Park Board Youth Vacancy

The City of Kirkland is seeking applicants to fill one youth-specific position on the Park Board.  The appointment is for a two-year term which ends March 31, 2019 and will be made by the City Council.  This position is currently filled by an incumbent who does intend to apply for reappointment. Council may also select an alternate appointee in case a vacancy were to occur within the immediate six months following the selection and appointment process. 

Applicants must have attained the grade level of Sophomore or Junior by September of the appointment year, be under the age of eighteen, and reside within the city of Kirkland.

The Park Board, which meets the second Wednesday of each month at 7:00 p.m., advises the City Council on matters relating to parks, recreation, and community services.

The City Council adopted a Code of Conduct which all Board and Commission members are asked to sign.

Park Board youth applications must be submitted to the City Clerk, Kirkland City Hall, 123 5th Avenue, Kirkland WA  98033, or kanderson@kirklandwa.gov prior to 4:00 p.m., Thursday, February 16, 2017.

Interviews are scheduled for the evening of Friday, March 17, 2017 beginning at 5:00 p.m. at Kirkland City Hall. If you are selected for an interview, you must be available on this evening; interview times to be determined.
