Civil Service Commission Vacancy

       
The City of Kirkland is seeking applicants to fill a vacancy on the Civil Service Commission. The appointment is for an unexpired six year term ending December 31, 2018 and is made by the City Manager, and confirmed by the City Council. Applicants must be a registered voter, be at least 18 years of age and have resided within the city limits of Kirkland for the three years prior to appointment. 

The Civil Service Commission makes rules to implement the civil service system, authorizes the conduct and grading of civil services tests, investigates complaints about the enforcement of the civil service system, conducts hearings regarding discipline of civil service employees, and assures that employees are selected or promoted from lists maintained by the Commission.

The City Council adopted a Code of Conduct and Code of Ethics which all appointed Board and Commission members are asked to sign.
