RCR Agency Welcomes Brook Buettner as Executive Director

KIRKLAND, Wash. – The newly formed Regional Crisis Response (RCR) Agency announces Brook Buettner as its first Executive Director. The RCR Agency provides regional mobile crisis response services for the five north King County cities of Bothell, Kenmore, Kirkland, Lake Forest Park, and Shoreline.

Juanita Beach Reopens From Closure Due to Sewer Overflow

After conducting water quality testing this week, Public Health – Seattle & King County has recommended that the City reopen the beach at Juanita Beach Park. City staff have removed the closure signs.

Juanita Beach Precautionary Closure Due to Sewer Overflow

Juanita Beach is temporarily closed, starting Wednesday, March 1, due to a sewer overflow into Juanita Creek at I-405/NE 132nd Street. As a precaution, Public Health – Seattle & King County has recommended the beach remain closed until at least Tuesday, March 7, 2023. People and pets should not swim, drink lake water, or engage in other water activities at Juanita Beach.

Armed Suspects in Kirkland Burglary Linked to Regional Robbery Crew

Kirkland Police Department (KPD) investigators identified individuals believed to be responsible for burglarizing a home and firing shots at the homeowner on October 9, 2022, in south Kirkland. The identifying information helped a coordinated law enforcement effort that led to the arrest of three people connected to multiple crimes across King County.

Kirkland Police To Begin Using Body-Worn Cameras in Early December

KIRKLAND, Wash. – The Kirkland Police Department (KPD) will begin using body-worn cameras (BWCs) in early December. Officers in KPD’s Traffic Unit will be the first to wear and operate body-worn cameras on duty, with the goal of equipping the whole department by the end of the year.
