KIRKLAND, Wash. – Juanita Beach is closed, starting Wednesday, November 9, as a precaution due to a sewer main break that occurred upstream of Juanita Creek at NE 132nd St and 116th Ave NE.

The City of Kirkland Storm and Surface Water Division has collected samples and is completing testing of the water at Juanita Beach. As a precaution, the City along with Public Health – Seattle & King County, have recommended the beach closure until the test results are finalized. The beach at Juanita Beach Park will reopen when bacteria levels read within the safe range.

People and pets should not swim, drink lake water, or engage in other water activities at Juanita Beach.

Signs will be posted indicating that the beach is closed.

Updates about Juanita Beach Park will be posted on the City webpage.
